USB vs COM Port Considerations
Different plotter models have varying compatibility with connection types:
- USB Connection: Modern plotters typically use USB. Ensure you're using a USB 2.0 or higher port.
- COM/Serial Port: Older plotters may require COM port connection. This provides more stable communication for some models. Remember to also change your plotter's internal connection setting to COM if you switch away from USB.
- USB-to-Serial Adapters: If your computer lacks a COM port, a quality USB-to-Serial adapter can bridge the connection.
